Baby could be world’s first to be marked as gender ‘unknown’

A parent in Canada is campaigning for their baby’s gender to be marked as unknown in a world-first.

Kori Doty, a non-binary trans-parent who doesn’t identify as male or female, wants to ensure that their baby’s gender is kept off all records.

The parent, from British Colombia, has been trying to get a birth certificate issued since last November but has so far failed in their bid.

Kori has said it is their intention to raise Searyl Atli as genderless until they have a ‘sense of self and command of vocabulary to tell you who they are’.

Baker claims Jesus would discriminate against gay people

A notorious Christian baker at the centre of a landmark US court case has claimed that Jesus Christ would discriminate against gay people.

Jack Phillips of Colorado’s Masterpiece Cakeshop is at the centre of a case over anti-LGBT discrimination that is set to be heard by the Supreme Court.

The baker refused to make a cake for the couple after he found out they were celebrating their wedding, and continues to insist his religion requires discrimination against gay people.

He voiced his opinion on a recent episode of The View.

The baker is defended by hardline anti-LGBT law firm Alliance Defending Freedom, which has sought to undermine LGBT rights protections in a number of states.

A ruling in the Supreme Court in favour of the baker could have a chilling effect on LGBT rights protections country-wide, and equality activists fear it may end up creating a license for homophobic discrimination.
